FAQ

Compatibility

  • Is PayAlert a mobile app?
No, PayAlert is a desktop app only. You need a Mac or a Windows PC to run it.

  • Will PayAlert work on my computer?
PayAlert requires macOS Yosemite (10.10) or newer, or Windows 7 or newer.
It has a free 14-day trial included, so feel free to download it and make sure it works!

  • I’m using Shopify / Squarespace / Weebly / WooCommerce / Podia / etc. Can I use PayAlert?
Yes — if your ecommerce software supports either Stripe or PayPal to pay your revenue out, you can use PayAlert to know everything about your payments. See .

  • Will PayAlert work with my personal PayPal account?
Not really. PayAlert has been made for Business PayPal accounts, not personal ones.
You’ll still be able to add your personal account, but some events (like payments you do using your personal account) will not be displayed.

License

  • What’s the difference between Essential and Pro licenses?
With Essential, you can monitor 1 single account — be it Stripe or PayPal.
Pro lets you monitor multiple accounts at the same time, Stripe and PayPal.

  • Why would I need to monitor multiple accounts?

    1. If you propose both PayPal and Credit Cards (through Stripe) to your clients, you need to monitor at least 1 Stripe and 1 PayPal accounts.
    2. If you work on multiple projects (like we do), you probably use different Stripe accounts to differentiate your revenue.
    3. You want to monitor your Stripe / PayPal dev accounts in addition to your live accounts.

  • What does “perpetual license” means?
When you buy a PayAlert license, you get a) a perpetual license to use the current version of PayAlert, and b) rights to get updates and support for the next 12 months.
A perpetual license means that you will always be able to use PayAlert, up to the version released at the time your license expired.
    Current version: Version 3.7.0 - Sep 2, 2024

  • What happens once the 12 months of updates and support are over?
You can keep using the version of PayAlert that you have, for as long as you want.
However, you won’t be able to download future updates for the app. You will need to renew your license to keep getting new features and improvements.
We also prioritize support for customers with an active license.

Purchasing

  • Which payment methods do you accept?
You can pay with credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Amex) or PayPal. All payments are secured.
